Queen to the King

You are ferocious
A king lion
A man unshaven

I spent hours in the royal bed
and have swung through your jungle,
but you don't know me at all

A queen,
I am under these covers
My jewels sparkle through my clothing
Hungry eyes, like yours, don't see them

You are a strange predator
I think to myself
As I run freely to and from you
without any opposition

The things we do are a luxury to the commoners
We surrender ourselves to bodily pleasures
Unchain ourselves from the shackles of the cerebral

My majesty it excites me that you cannot see
                      ME
The powerful woman fully clothed in formal elegant attire,
outside this bed, with a mouth full of eloquent verbiage

The day has come I’ll return no more
through your doors of carnage
and into your arms that have pleased just the body

I sit on my thrown,
imagining for just a moment
how you might handsomely rest on your own
wondering if it is possible you discharged
a caring thought into the universe:
Who is that beauty really?

Love to Death

She set our bed a flame
and left me cold.

Those lava-colored eyes are much more striking than mine.

You were hypnotized.
    So in love-
    love-struck!

My love,
I too,
have been struck by her knives,
then
by your lies

           She is the love-devil.

You say she excited you,
Her evil words delighted you
Her curses aroused you

          ----Now I curse you---

While you lay in the debris of you and she
I see her image pulling on the sheets of
my bed while I try to sleep.
Her demonic stares are deep and lusty.

In the
wildest,
thickest,
greenest
jungle

I am the lush, carnal creature wanting bodily pleasures/ she’s a blood thirsty tiger that never backs down.

+We prepare to engage in a fight to the death.+

Only one woman will walk from this arena,
triumphantly holding the other's beating heart.

Before the show begins I sit before a mirror
Watching as the other women admire me

They braid my hair back
My eyes sparkling with a glittery shadow
Lotion is rubbed onto my skin

I dress in leather,
wrapped in lace
and spiked belts

                              She approaches/ I approach/ We approach.

Our eyes lock.
                  A bell has rung!

      The
battle
      commences

This Poem is Not About You

Write poetry all
over me with your
pinches and tickles.

Push my buttons
make the images
pour from my pen.

Squeeze yourself
into my dreams
and fantasies.

Kiss me hard
like you mean it
and ill scribble
it into forever.

Cleanse of the Heart

I imagine
myself
cleansing
away
the pain and letting
it
all
wash
down
river.

I see your reflection
in the sunlit water
I hear your voice
loud and slowly
disappear into a whisper
beneath the pouring sound

You are gone.

The water
rushes threw my legs,
hair sopping wet,
heart
dripping
tears
and
draining
thoughts.

The light warms my body
I feel weightless
hopeful,
feminine,
and powerful.

I am here.
I press my fingers to the sky.
I feel all the love inside me.
I am cleansed.

I Think I Love You..I'm Leaving

Why did you treat me this way?
WOUNDS
Can I let you miss me like this and walk away?
CHANGE
Who calls me just to tell me how crazy I make him?
DESIRE
How will I forget and recover?
HEART
When the passion dies between two bodies where does it go?
DISINTEGRATES
What does it look like when it is revived in the eyes of another lover?
REAWAKENING BEAUTY

Flooding

This is a repost from 2008. My friend recently asked if I had a favorite poem. This is certainly one of them

FLOODING
Large drops of rain
Don’t just drip,
But roll and twist
Around sopping wet
Curls.

She believes
smudged eye liner
changes her identity
And for just a minute
She is somebody else

Twisting her body
spewing random prose
packed with venom
Her seductive whispers
pierce through
the tropical storm

When her eyes catch
a familiar victim
immediately she is horrified
when she is caught
wildly dancing
to thunder and lightening
during a flood warning

A galaxy of shells

A galaxy of shells
shine like stars
on the floor in the dark
We glare passionately,
exchanging strikes
of the eye,
each with its own code

The open door is split
down the center
The windows
have been
blown
out
These are the consequences of eruptive behavior

It’s fiery HOT in here
We’ve been destructive
AFFLICTIONS:
strike,
bite,
blow,
cuff,
collide
Created an inferno
in this pressure tank of a bedroom
with a raging, love
that’s like a machine gun

Battle Scars

A blow torch was taken to our love..
It burned
blue,
blue,
blue.

I saw an image of 2 lovers
       in a carnal battle
A fight to the death of hearts
A power struggle of the minds,
One with emotional nuclear-like weapons.
The other with a dangerous intellectual sword.

It was a deadly combination
An exchange of vows
we guarded,
locked up,

turned up the pressure,
pushed buttons and it detonated.

In just seconds it disintegrated
floating off in the form of smoky clouds
In a bed alone I lie
I’m floating on
the black blankets
rolling before my eyes
Counting the little scars
I feel tingling on my flesh
Writing our saga into a book of history,
a manual to help win the next battle

Game

These stilettos resemble
       football cleats
caked
                with mud and blades
        of grass.

         Beaten up,
this game has got me
on highs and lows...

Going
       game
          for
  game
until I get tackled
      by the one
          that
     makes me
hang my jersey up.

Shelter

His kind of love is
a weapon of mass destruction.
He falls over and over
destroying the hearts of
crowds of the most innocent
         women.

He is a terrorist,
a heartless beat,
with a mind set to reach
a point of detonation
in 5,4,3,2...
tick*
BOOM!!!!
Danger... danger...
follows me
danger... danger...
I cut my connections.
There is nothing stranger
than the thought of another
knowing my wiring.
You found me on this
dance floor that feels more like
a bomb shelter
you don't know me
I've lost my phone and ID

Smudged eyeshadow
shimmery darkness
across my cheek bones
resembling the aftermath of a blast
In your arms
I find a bomb shelter..***
And on my lips  you taste
the residue of an explosive passion
that is not ours...
